Cutting it too close - picking up the mark

Coach Philippe Presti suggested the guys on board were a bit greedy, cutting the mark rounding too close during a practice race on Friday.

Skipper Jimmy Spithill, as is his wont, put a more positive spin on the incident, saying he was merely attempting to help reset the course after a windshift.

Either way the result was a sadly deflated racing mark impaled on the starboard bow for the final leg to the finish.

Despite the extra drag, the guys made some good foiling tacks and held on for the win.
